Sharing Hobbies

“Iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” — Proverbs 27:17

There’s something special about sharing our hobbies—the things that bring us joy, peace, and a sense of purpose. Whether it’s cooking, gardening, painting, sports, music, or crafting, our hobbies are more than pastimes; they’re gifts from God that can bring people together and build meaningful connections.

When we take time to share what we know and love, we create space for growth—not just in skill, but in friendship and faith. The Bible encourages us to teach and learn from one another. Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom…” That doesn’t only apply to spiritual matters—it can also include the everyday things that help us live fuller, more joyful lives.

Sharing a hobby is an act of love. It says, “I want to give you a piece of what brings me joy.” And in return, when we open ourselves up to learning from others, we’re humbling ourselves and allowing new blessings to enter our lives.

So what’s your hobby? What do you love doing that you can pass on to someone else? And who do you know that could teach you something new? Let’s inspire each other, sharpen one another, and grow—together.
